Riponian Stages Rally March 2009

With the sprint and hillclimb season not yet started, we have been getting our motorsport fix from a bit of rally spectating over the winter months. This weekend we jumped in Simons Subaru Impreza Series McRae and headed up to Helmsley, North Yorkshire to watch a few stages of the Riponian Rally.

The Riponian Rally is now in its 40th year of running, based entirely in the Forests to the east of Thirsk.

The weather was superb, coupled with a great entry list consisting of various Subaru Impreza, Mitsubishi Evos and MK1 Escorts it was a very good day for spectating!

After visiting the various stages around Helmsley we visited the Royal Oak pub, which is situated in the center of Helmsley - well worth a visit!
